A Last Dip of Summer Lunch

On one of the last days of summer vacation, Bella went on a day trip with friends & needed a sack lunch. She asked for a bagel, veggies, apples, & 3 different dips - good thing we have lots of EasyLunchboxes Mini Dippers!

She wanted peanut butter & nutella for the bagel, & caramel dip for the apples. The veggies she requested were broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, & cucumber, which she likes to eat as is, no dip :)

I added some summery decorations: sunglasses & flip flops cupcake picks, & a frog in an inner tube bento pick. I also packed a little plastic spreader that I forgot to include in the photo.

What's black & white, black & white, black & white?

A panda bear rolling down a hill :)  Heheh, cute. And I love it when I have bento accessories that go with the jokes, riddles, & facts on our Lunchbox Love notes. Bella loves pandas too, so she loved this lunch:

Her EasyLunchbox is packed with turkey & cheddar wraps secured with panda picks, Craisins in a mini dipper, grapes in a flower cup, & celery with a little panda sauce container filled with peanut butter for dipping. Oh, and the last of the pumpkin pie Oreos :)

One last slacker lunch & school's out for summer!

I had some great ideas for fun last day of school lunches... but they'll have to wait for next year! (Or maybe a summer picnic.) A busy week + impromptu trip out of town =  no trip to the grocery store for the necessary ingredients. Plus I was tired. So, slacker lunches for the sproutlets! I did stick a smiling, waving raccoon bento pick in Bella's & I think that was all it took to make it cute :)

It may be uninspired, but it's not such a bad little lunch... I think we have the food groups covered :) She's got a Clif bar, melon balls, cucumber slices, turkey pepperoni, & a fruit snack treat packet, packed in EasyLunchboxes.

Bento Kid : Mia Bella Made Lunches

In consideration of my being sick with a cold, my Bella made her own lunch yesterday & today. Such a sweet kid. She packs a pretty sweet lunch too :)

Yesterday, Sea Creatures:

Today, Panda Party!

Both EasyLunchboxes contain a whole grain energy bar, whole grain Fig Newtons, spiced almonds in EasyLunchboxes Mini Dippers, grape tomatoes, & cantaloupe. She chose all the ingredients & accessories herself,  I only took the photos. Fruit, veggie, protein & grain, well done my girlie!

Salad & Sandwich, Soup & Sides

Where did our Spring go? We woke up to a gloomy damp day, boo. The girls wanted hot lunches, but they didn't want the school lunch, so I got out their Thermoses. The boys opted for the school lunch, so I had a few extra minutes to add some cutesy touches to Sailor Boy's lunch :

He has a ham & cheese flatbread wrap atop a salad (with radish heart cutouts), some Gala apple wedges, carrots, & dressing for the salad. I used my alphabet picks to add a love note to his sandwich.

Sprout has hot leftover noodles in her Thermos. In her Bynto she has a Goodbyn dip cup filled with grated parmesan - she likes to sprinkle it on her noodles - and some Gala apple wedges, carrots, & parmesan garlic Triscuits.

Bella has potato soup in her Thermos, and sides of cucumbers, radishes, baby carrots, sunburst tomatoes, Triscuits & string cheese. Bella likes her string cheese to be very cold, she says it "strings better" that way, so I put some reusable ice cubes right next to it. Both girls have iced tea to drink.

Lunchbox Love & Learn :)

We love our Lunchbox Love note cards; they're an easy way to add some extra love to the sproutlets' lunches. And a little learning fun too! All the notes have a sentiment side, but on the flip side, some have jokes, and some have tidbits of trivia. We especially love the ones with animal facts

I made my girls bentos to match the themes of their Lunchbox Love :)

Bella's panda bento was inspired by the lunch Jenn of Bento for Kidlet packed for her Kidlet today - I just love the colourful pasta she made! We had some leftover marinara sauce so I put that in a Thermos and cooked up some leafy veggie pasta for Bella to pour it over. She also has cucumbers, almonds (in the Mini Dipper), apples with a teeny bottle of cinnamon & sugar to sprinkle, and cherry & sunburst tomatoes.

Sprout has a starfish bento with cheddar cheese stars, little starfish peanut butter sandwiches, starfish cheese crackers, & apple wedges.

Birdie's turtle bento has "turtle egg" peanut butter sandwiches, apple bites, yogurt with sea turtle sugar sprinkles, and a cup of plums bites & red grapes.

Winnie the Pooh Bento

Today is author A.A. Milne's Birthday. I asked Bella if she would like a Winnie the Pooh lunch for the occasion. She said "Well, I'm not really into Winnie the Pooh, but it would be pretty funny to say my mum gave me Pooh for lunch!"

I'm no artist, I couldn't draw Winnie the Pooh freehand, not very well anyways. But, I have a lot of Classic Pooh stuff,  I collected it a little obsessively at one time. I even decorated Beanstalk's nursery with a Classic Pooh theme, once upon a time. So I was pretty excited when I remembered I had a whole bunch of Pooh-ism stamps to choose from for Bella's lunch! Surely stamps would work on cheese and cookies, right?  Right!

It was Bella's idea to have a balloon theme; balloons & birthdays go hand in hand :) She also suggested an oval slice of Honeycrisp apple to look like a balloon. She still has that loose tooth though, so underneath it the rest of the apple is cubed. Next to that she has watermelon cubed with my FunBites & embellished with "heffalump" picks.  Bees (not the wrong sort) decorate some grapes, & spiced almonds fill a honey coloured cup.

Food Colouring Markers + Rubber Stamps = Fun Winnie the Pooh lunch with Food Stamps!
"Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon".  Her heart-shaped sandwich is turkey & cheddar, topped with white cheddar stamped with a Pooh-ism ♥  An EasyLunchboxes Mini Dipper holds a couple of Fig Newtons stamped with Piglet carrying a balloon & that silly old bear Pooh,  for snack.

Food Colouring Markers + Rubber Stamps = Food Stamp Fun!

The cookie and cheese stamping experiment was a success! I used my Americolor food decorating pens to colour on the raised part of the stamp then stamped the food just a little lighter than I would paper.  Oh, the possibilities... :)

Food Colouring Markers + Rubber Stamps = Food Stamp Fun!
Pickle got a honey bee & hive sandwich, banana honey Chobani Champions, & a cereal bar (not pictured). I stamped a blank Lunchbox Love note with a Pooh & Friends stamp and wrote "It's time for a little smackerel of something."

Loose Tooth? Take Little Bites :)

Bella's still got that wiggly tooth, it's not ready to come out yet. She can bite into things, but she doesn't like how it feels, so I've used our FunBites Cube it! again, and filled her Go Green lunch box with little bites :)

Hidden under the Lunchbox Love note she has a Trix yogurt - did you know they're coloured using fruits & vegetables rather than artificial food dye? Also in that section is a small Light My Fire spork and a couple of "ice pillows" (cut from a larger sheet). In the other sections she has a cubed PB sandwich,  cheddar & mozzarella, carrots, & almonds.

I'll be making another tooth fairy lunch any day now!

It's so dark in the mornings now, and I take my lunch photos outside so I don't have to use a flash -  and brrr, it was so cold yesterday, I was shivering & having a hard time keeping my hands still to take a clear photo!
