Sproutlets Choice

Sproutlet's choice lunches today. Bean Sprout asked for fruit, chocolate, & a Go-Gurt in her Go Green Lunch Box. I gave her grapes, strawberries (with a little chocolate bar bento pick), chocolate yogurt covered raisins, chocolate graham stars, & a strawberry Go-Gurt.  I also put some reusable ice cubes in the yogurt section to keep it nice & chilly.

Bella wanted soup & sides. She got tomato & noodles in her LunchBots thermal container, and Wonderful salt & pepper pistachios, Cheez-It crackers, grapes, & sweet mini peppers in her LunchBots Quad.

Pickle's home with croup and not hungry, Beanstalk's buying in the cafeteria, and Birdie made herself a cheese sandwich with our ice cream cone Lunch Punch, then coloured it with food markers :

Yes, that's Birdie, she wanted her hair "shaved like Amy Pond" (Karen Gillan).

Jolly Holiday Hop - Go Green Trees

If you're a regular reader you know that I like to add a Lunchbox Love note to my sproutlets' lunches, and often choose a card that goes with the lunch somehow... but sometimes, the Lunchbox Love note is actually the inspiration for the lunch - like this card featuring a bit of trivia about Christmas trees:

No, I did not know that, and I doubt Sprout does either :) That fun fact inspired her Christmas trees & apples themed Go Green Lunch Box:

The Nutella sandwich tree "lights" are candy-coated sunflower seeds, stuck on with dabs of Nutella. That took a lot longer than I anticipated, I kept dropping them! But I love how the "apple tree" turned out , and it was easy :)

She also has raspberries, a Babybel cheese round "apple" with a leaf pick, & snowflake Ritz crackers. Hidden underneath the cheese is a surprise panda box filled with mint chocolate chips.

Bella has a Christmas tree fact in her Go Green Lunch Box as well ... Did you know that Christmas tree lights were invented by a telephone company employee? ...  Her Grandpa is a retired telephone company employee so she may find that interesting :)

Speaking of her Grandpa, Bella has him to thank for the All-Dressed potato chips in her lunch - he visited last weekend & brought a bag from Canada :) Ketchup chips too, Beanstalk likes those. Besides the chips, she has cocktail tomatoes with a tree pick, mini pepper "Christmas lights", & dried strawberries in a star cup. Beneath the the star is an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.

Now be on your merry way & see what's for lunch at Mommy & Me Lunchbox! Then keep following the panda for 13+ more lunches!

Oh fishy, fishy, fishy, fish!

It was a lovely little lunch, and it went wherever we did go :)

The sproutlets had fishy lunches Friday!  Birdie's was in her Yumbox:
  • greek yogurt with fishy sprinkles
  • grapes & pluots
  • goldfish & startfish crackers
  • a fishy hard-cooked egg
  • apples & baby carrots
  • & a few gummy treats

Sprout's was in her Go Green Lunchbox:
Bella also took her Go Green with pretty much the same lunch, & Pickle's PB sandwiches were cut with the same fishy (or whale, if you like) Lunch Punch.

Beanstalk took his PlanetBox Rover with:
  • green grapes
  • Goldfish crackers & string cheese
  • Granny Smith apples
  • a peanut butter Clif Crunch granola bar
  • & a few gummy treats

Back To School: Bean Sprout & Bella

The sproutlets went back to school today! New First Grader Sprout got her Back to School themed Go Green Lunchbox as requested:

She has a notebook paper peanut butter sandwich, Fig Newtons speared with an apple pick, Red Delicious apple wedges, yogurt with ABC & 123 sprinkles, raspberries & strawberries with a 1 pick (for 1st grade), and iced tea to drink.

Bella said she was looking forward to an "epic" lunch for the first day of 5th Grade. Uh oh. Just a wee bit of pressure there, heheh. I was pressed for time and hadn't given it much thought to it ahead of time, but I did my best :

She too has notebook paper (made using food markers), but hers is a Fold-it flatbread pizza sandwich, filled with marinara sauce & cheese. She also got sunburst tomatoes on a star spear, cantaloupe, cucumber & carrots with Read & Write food picks, and little apple cups filled with dried strawberries & a couple of Chocorooms pretzel treats, atop a couple of Fig Newtons. Unsure if it qualified as "epic",  I added a note to the sandwich for good measure :)

Pickle requested a plain square peanut butter sandwich, yogurt, string cheese, and Oreo. No need to photograph that ;) And Beanstalk wanted the school lunch! Birdie's not back in preschool yet, and a good thing too - I am out of practice at time crunch lunch packing!

Back To School : Go Green Lunch Box

Sprout's choice for her back to school lunch is her Go Green Lunch Box. Look how happy she is to finally have her very own Go Green Lunch Box - no more borrowing big sister's. And in the Candy Store print that she wanted too :)

She doesn't go back to school until tomorrow though, so her lunch has yet to be made :) She's requested a back to school theme, I can do that.

Here are a couple of never posted Go Green lunches from last year:

This lunch was from one of those days where I realized I should have gotten groceries the day before. Luckily I had a Clif bar to add a little more substance to the fruit & cheese! Bella likes her string cheese cold, so I added some reusable ice stars to that section, and more star accessories for fun:

Bella loves pizza sandwiches made with marinara & mozzarella in Fold-it flatbread. She also had cantaloupe wedges, apple wedges, & tomatoes, embellished with fun food picks & a pizza fact  Lunchbox Love note.

Pizza theme Go Green Lunch Box

One thing I really like about the Go Green is how each section is completely separated from the next, with silicone seals keeping moisture or crumbs from one section from getting into another, or out of the lunchbox. And the lock on the lid lets kids know it's on right and won't make a mess in the lunch bag. And I love that it comes with a drink holder that fits in the lunchbox!

Wow, this school year went by fast! My kindergartner Bean Sprout had such a great year :) As excited as she is about going into first grade next Fall, she's going to be sad to say goodbye to her her beloved kindergarten teacher & her fun classroom, and their mascot, Clifford the Big Red Dog.  Today is her last day, and this is her last Clifford themed kindergarten school lunch:

Orange you looking forward to lunch?

Bella asked for her GoGreen LunchBox today. The orange theme was unintentional at first, but when I realized all the food that was going into it was orange, I chose orange picks & cups to match :)

Bella's orange lunch contains:
  • Turkey & cheddar flatbread sandwich.
  • Cheetos puffed corn snacks.
Yes, junk food. I allow it sometimes :)
  • Mozzarella cheese stick cut in thirds.
  • Cantaloupe chunks.
  • Organic baby carrots.
Their healthiness cancels out the Cheetos, right?
  • An orange sweet pepper.
  • Iced tea in her GoGreen bottle.
