Leafy Fall PlanetBoxes with Lunchbox Love

How I love a fall morning in the Pacific Northwest! I love it being cool enough to make a fire in the wood stove, and how much more enjoyable my coffee is when there's still a bit of a chill in the air and it's not quite light out yet.  I love the fog that makes the world outside my window look soft and dreamy as it grows lighter. And I love the bright colours of the autumn leaves in contrast!

I put some leaves and warm fall colours in the girls' lunches :)

In the PlanetBox Shuttle, I packed Birdie some yogurt with sprinkles (and a happy little spoon to eat it with), strawberries, and mini peanut butter & cheddar sandwich leaves. Her cloth napkin's print is Peanuts characters playing in the leaves. In the little green Woodstock box she has one of her Hallowe'en candies for a treat.  We love Snoopy & the Peanuts gang :)

Bella's PlanetBox Rover contains leaf-shaped turkey & cheddar quesadillas, Craisins dried cranberries,  cranberry & sage Triscuit crackers, apple wedges, a tube of almonds, babble cheese, and a Hershey's Kiss treat.

It's nearly Thanksgiving, so I got out our Lunchbox Love for Thanksgiving, we had a few notes left from last year. They've added a 4th volume this year! Each volume of 12 notes features thoughtful quotes about gratitude on the front and fun interesting facts about Thanksgiving on the back.

There's still time to get some Lunchbox Love for Thanksgiving! Besides putting them in lunches,  you could include one (or a set!) with hostess gifts, or even use them as place cards at Thanksgiving dinner :)  And you can use my coupon code, BENTON, to save 15% :)

The note I added to Birdie's PlanetBox reminded me that it's about time to bring out my Little House books for Sprout!

Since it's Movember,  I chose a moustache print napkin for Bella, which I packed atop her quesadillas  & set her Lunchbox Love note on  - I like to save & re-use the notes if they don't get food on them :)

The trivia on the flip side of Bella's note was fitting for her cranberry-filled lunch - it inspired me to add a leaf bento pick to her Babybel cheese :)

That orange tubular container the almonds are in is a repurposed mini M&M's tube! Fits perfectly in that section of the PlanetBox Rover.

Below are the spring-loaded pastry stamps I used to make the leaf mini sandwiches in Birdie's lunch. They make a great impression on the bread!

Do the colourful sprinkles on the yogurt look like autumn leaves to you?

I think they do... but they are actually turtles! They came in this Sea Accents sugar sprinkles assortment of marine creatures :)

Happy Fall, y'all!

Snoopy & Woodstock Christmas Yumboxes

Birdie didn't eat everything in her Snoopy Christmas muffin tin meal (see yesterday's post), so I recycled her leftovers in Sprout's Yumbox. She has yogurt sprinkled with sanding sugar, raspberries, baby carrots, mozzarella bites, snowflake Trix crackers, & Peanuts gummy fruit snacks.

Christmastime & the Peanuts go hand in hand for me. I look forward to watching A Charlie Brown Christmas on TV every year, even though we own the DVD (VHS too though we've no way to play it, heh), and the Vince Guaraldi Trio soundtrack is the traditional background music of our Christmas morning. So when I saw these Peanuts Christmas cupcake rings, I had to have them! Cupcake rings add a fun touch to string cheese, baby carrots, or anything you can roll up - oooh, I need some Snoopy cloth napkins :)

If you're a Peanuts fan too, check out yesterday's post for my review & giveaway of 3 Snoopy's You Can be Anything! iPad apps, and a whole collection of Peanuts lunch posts from my bento blogger friends!

Here's another of Sprout's Yumbox lunches, from last week. That's the removeable inner tray, I did pack it in the Yumbox :) I tend to go a little overboard packing sweet stuff this time of year... the stores are just so full of holiday treats! And my Sprout has a sweet tooth like her mum...

She had yogurt, Gala apples, carrots, some kind of Goldfish cookie (I think French Toast grahams?) & mini marshmallows. If I'd have added some chocolate chips she could have made mini s'mores. Oooh! Lightbulb!

Snoopy's You Can Be Anything!
Review & Giveaway

What a fun book & app starring our favourite loveable beagle Snoopy!

With sound effects, animation, and narration if you like, this interactive & customizeable app really brings Snoopy's inspiring message to life. In the story, Snoopy shows kids that they can be anything - a dancer, a surgeon, a grocery store clerk, a world-famous anything they can think of ... really! The professions aren't limited to what's on the page - in the app's Create Mode, kids can personalize the story, add their names, and even change Snoopy's costume! They can also save their story creations, or share them with family & friends through email, Facebook and Twitter :)

Birdie has been enjoying Snoopy's You Can Be Anything! so I'm very pleased to be able to offer 3 of my readers their own copy of the app, compliments of StoryPanda. Enter via the Rafflecopter widget below :)

Snoopy Christmas Muffin Tin

It's Christmastime, so Birdie's tin has both a Snoopy and a holiday theme, with both healthy stuff and treats.  She has raspberries, mozzarella, carrots & popcorn decorated with bento picks & cupcake rings, graham stars & rainbow chocolate covered sunflower seeds (I think they look like Christmas lights) & a pouch of Snoopy gummy fruit snacks.  Oh, and eggnog in a Peanuts cup!

What Peanuts fan wouldn't love a snack of popcorn topped with the world's most famous beagle's smiling mug?

Here are a few more Peanuts Christmas Lunches
by some of my bento blogger friends:

I'm in love with Organized Bites' sweet rosemary & tomato Charlie Brown tree, and starry Peace On Earth theme.

I'm really digging Becoming a Bentoholic's salami Snoopy doghouse, and the Christmas lights & character accents make it so colourful & cute.

Lunchbox Dad's festive Peanuts themed feast is filled with delightful details.

I asked my fellow bento bloggers if they had any Peanuts lunches to share...
Good grief, there sure are a lot of Peanuts fans among my bento friends!

It's Your Anniversary, Charlie Brown!

Today marks the 63rd anniversary of the day Charles Schultz's Peanuts cartoon first appeared in print. Happy Birthday Peanuts Gang!

The sproutlets have Peanuts themed lunches packed in various PlanetBoxes:

Bella's PlanetBox Rover is packed with a Charlie Brown's t-shirt cheese sandwich, embellished with fruit leather, baby carrots, a babybel cheese carved with "Good Grief", cucumber slices with a Snooopy ring stuck in the top one, sunburst & grape tomatoes with a Charlie Brown pick, and apple wedges with peanut butter dip in a Snoopy cup.

Pickle is taking the PlanetBox Launch for the first time, packed with his usual, but today his peanut butter sandwiches have Snoopy & Woodstock drawn on them and his yogurt has yellow bird sprinkles! One of our autumn print Peanuts cloth napkins & a happy face spoon fit beside the Little Dipper of yogurt, and he has some Snoopy gummy fruit snacks for a treat.

Birdie's preschool lunch is packed in the PlanetBox Shuttle. She has a star shaped hard-cooked egg, baby carrots with a Snoopy ring, red grapes, a Snoopy cheese sandwich embellished with food markers, & in the little Woodstock cup,  rainbow chocolate covered sunflower seeds.

I'm no artist! I used these handy stencils to make Snoopy & Woodstock!

It's a Happy Birthday, Peanuts post party! My buddies Jenn of Bento for Kidlet  & Venia of Organized Bites also packed Peanuts birthday bentos today

A Snoopy Yubo Bento for My Boy

The leaves are turning! Fall is here :) It's my favourite time of year!

One of the new cloth napkins I bought for the sproutlets' lunchboxes (from The Red Poppy) is an autumn theme Peanuts print. I love Peanuts. Pickle does too - though I'm not sure he's read any of the comics... but he's seen plenty of the holiday specials, and he loves his Vince Guaraldi Trio CD, Charlie Brown's Holiday Hits. So I knew he'd like a Snoopy lunch :)

Pickle's Snoopy lunch is a dog in the doghouse peanut butter sandwich made with a Lunch Punch Critter Cutter, a bonus PB sandwich bone, Snoopy gummy fruit snacks, & yogurt topped with little yellow bird cupcake sprinkles (ok maybe they are chicks but let's pretend) for Woodstock and his bird friends! And of course, the Peanuts napkin and his new red spork are also packed in his Yubo lunchbox.

Happy Fall y'all!
