My Doctor Who fangirl Bella gets a Valentimey-Wimey lunch, inspired by dimension-crossed would-be lovers, the Tenth Doctor & Rose. Packed in a pink yubo lunchbox with a Valentine holiday faceplate ♥
The Doctor's two hearts are represented by the two pizza biscuits, and Rose Tyler, obviously, by the ham rose :) On the side are tomatoes & Galia melon. And I couldn't resist adding a little heart-shaped marshmallow baby Adipose ♥
I made the pull apart heart biscuits with Pillsbury Grands cut with my FunBites Luv it! Thanks for this fantastic idea to Jenn of Bento for Kidlet - and she made her biscuit dough from scratch! After cutting them out I brushed on a little sauce & sprinkled them with mozzarella - and I love how they turned out :)

Pickle loves science and is all excited about his new science experiment kit, and hoping to take part in his school's science fair this Spring, so that's the theme for his yubo unch:
Pickle's has a heart and a beaker sandwich, peanut butter of course. The beaker has a heart cut out of the top bread, and the space filled with a layer of sugar sprinkles, a technique called "fairy bread"- isn't that cute? On the side he has a frosting-drizzled heart-shaped oatmeal bar, that he calls "mookie", because it's texture is in between a muffin & a cookie :)

That's it! Birdie & Sprout's cute & non-geeky Valentine's Day lunches will get their own post, later :) But there are more geeky Valentine lunches for you to admire... starting with the awesomeness Eileen's put together at Robot Squirrel an the Monkeys Click the button below to go see!
They both turned out GREAT!!! I love the ham rose and seriously need to try that heart pizza biscuit deal for John ... and we all already know how much I love anything dealing with Pickle ;)

ReplyDeleteSo cute! The science one is awesome! Man I'm bummed I missed getting in on this hop. I could have Doctor who'd with you :)
ReplyDeleteLove the ham rose - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe yubo lunchbox looks like a lot of fun! I looked it up on Amazon (by following your link) and added it to my wish list. I also went to their homepage to check out all the different faceplates as I love the idea of being able to change out the faceplates for each holiday. I didn't see this valentine's day faceplate anywhere... where did you get it? Amazon didn't have any holiday faceplates and their homepage only had the fall and winter holidays. I was interested in getting some for the upcoming holidays like Easter, although I would eventually want the fall/winter ones too... Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine faceplate is part of a collection that includes Easter too! Holiday Faceplate Pack - 6 sets
DeleteThose are so cute! How many actual colors of boxes do you have and what are? Trying to figure out what base color to get. Also, do you need two faceplates for one lunchbox or do you only need one for the front.... It's kinda hard to tell. Thanks!!!
DeleteI have orange, pink & green boxes. If I had to choose just one I'd probably go with green, because so many faceplates will work with it, and it can work for many holidays too.
DeleteEach faceplate design comes as a set of 2. One will have the main design, for the "lid", or front, and the other either a plainer version or full print, for the "bottom" or back. So the 6 holiday sets actually includes 12 faceplates.
I sometimes mix & match or just use 1 set for 2 lunches and leave the 'bottom" white. Like in this post, Bella's lunch has the "lid" faceplate, and Pickle's has the full print "bottom" but used on his lid, so they both got a Valentines one. You don't need to use both - or any.
