Sprout loves to use chopsticks, so I thought an asian themed muffin tin lunch would be sure to please. She & Birdie had heart shaped rice (used my egg molds) teriyaki chicken over chinese noodles, mandarin oranges, snow pea pods, a fortune cookie, and a marshmallow crispy rice sushi treat (
recipe).
The pea pods went untouched by both girls. I keep offering them from time to time though - maybe one day they might try them ...
Bella really liked the teriyaki chicken & mandarin kebabs I made a while back, so I made a bunch of those, but on party picks instead of long skewers, to fit in her Easy Lunchbox better. She said the mandarins keep the chicken juicy and the chicken makes the mandarins tangy :) I also packed almonds, a fortune cookie, and a marshmallow crispy rice sushi treat.
Pickle got sushi-esque peanut butter sandwich rolls.
Beanstalk packed himself. He took a Clif bar, mozzarella string cheese, fortune cookie, and apple. He's getting so independent! I guess I was packing my own lunch at his age too... *sigh* ... 10 years went by so fast!
I love the way you arranged your oranges. All the food looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love the Asian theme. We love krispy treat sushi too! The mini chicken-orange kebabs sound like a great idea, something my kids will really love. Don't give up on those pea pods! :)
ReplyDeleteYum! I want to eat that meal! :-)
