Colourful Garden Lunches

Here are a couple of colourful EasyLunchboxes I packed for Sprout & Birdie. They were kind of inspired by the pretty floral print wax paper I used in them :)

 

Birdie likes elephants so I added an elephant bento pick to her leftover homemade pizza (that she helped make). Since she likes her pizza warmed up I lined that section with wax paper so the lunch helper could easily lift it all out to microwave it. In the smaller compartments she has grapes & cantaloupe embellished with silicone flower & butterfly bento picks. 

Sprout ate all her pizza so no leftovers for her. She has ham rolls secured with silicone butterfly & leaf picks, raspberries, cheddar cheese cut with a flower vegetable cutter,  pistachios, & a granola bar. The granola bars come 2 in a packet, but she typically only eats 1 so I wrapped it in a sheet of wax paper to keep it from getting soggy. The spork is for the berries.

Both bentos have colourful silicone cups - fluted, flowers, hearts, & crimped.

Pink Elephants Lunch Parade

A parade of pink elephant bento lunches went to school today :)

Bella's EasyLunchbox, below, contains dried strawberries, whole grain Fig Newtons, a tomato with a circus elephant pick, a cheese flatbread wrap, and cantaloupe chunks with an elephant fork:

OK so Pickle's elephant lunch isn't pink... but there are pink sprinkles on his yogurt! And orange ones too :) He has his usual peanut butter sandwiches, some string cheese with an elephant cupcake ring, & greek yogurt in a leak-proof lidded container that fits perfectly in that section!

Sprout's EasyLunchbox contains a stack of 3 elephant-stamped cheese sandwiches, fresh strawberries, carrots, & raisins with an elephant fork pick:

Cerise EasyLunchboxes Brights lids add a final touch of pink to the girls' bentos. Pickle got a Classic blue lid on his :)

Look! Gnome Lunch!

Bella requested a Clif bar & fruit for lunch today. I made it cute:

Her EasyLunchbox contains a Clif bar decorated with a garden gnome cupcake pick, sunburst & cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe, dried strawberries, and in the little mushroom box, a surprise chocolate treat.

Panda Pick Love!

I love having bento accessories for those mornings when I'm rushed or just not feeling up to doing much. This morning I woke up feeling dreadful and was going to tell the sproutlets to have school lunch, but none of today's choices appealed to Bella.  No worries, with the help of a handful of bento picks and silicone cups, I made this cute & colourful lunch in minutes.

She has a Foldit flatbread sandwich made with leftover chicken & cheddar cheese slices, a fruit leather rollup cut in half to fit the EasyLunchbox, baby carrots & a radish, and sunburst tomatoes, decorated with panda bento picks. Bella loves pandas. A little panda sauce container holds a Hershey's Kiss.

Lunch On A Stick : Linky Party!

Today is Something On A Stick Day!

Pickle almost always takes a peanut butter sandwich for lunch. It's the only kind of sandwich he likes. I usually cut it in fun shapes with a Lunch Punch or cookie cutters, but today, he's getting it on a stick!

I just got a whole bunch of these long skewers from BentoUSA, and I used my FunBites cutter to make the bite sized squares. His lunch on a stick is packed in a yubo lunchbox with a sprinkle-topped yogurt and a couple of Oreo cookies topped with a Trader Joe's yogurt covered cookie star.

The sproutlets' school is even getting in on the fun - the hot lunch today is pizza on a stick!  So that's what the others are having :) I had mixed emotions when I saw that on the menu - I'm glad they are doing something fun, but also slightly bummed that I won't be making lunch on a stick for ALL the sproutlets - if you follow the blog you know I love to put food on a stick :) Ah well, there's always tomorrow - any day is a good day for something on a stick!

Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Today is Read Across America Day, in honour of Dr. Seuss's birthday (tomorrow, March 2nd, but that's not a school day). I packed Bella a slightly Seuss-ish EasyLunchbox with a few random Seuss references. The cheese Eiffel Tower represents Paris - Bella is interested in fashion, and in the spirit of Seuss I wanted to remind her that if she can dream it, she can do it! 

Plus I've long been wanting to use these fabulous World Famous Landmark cutters I got as a Christmas gift from my friend JeeJee of BentoUSA:

Today is also National Peanut Butter Lovers Day, which is really every day for Pickle - to say he loves peanut butter is an understatement :)  I made him some heart-shaped peanut butter finger sandwiches stamped with LOVE ♥ I stopped counting when I reached my goal of 101 peanut butter sandwiches, but I wonder what number we're at now...
