The Hobbit movie is in theatres today! My biggest boy can't wait to see it, so I made him a Hobbit Movie Night bento lunch!
So how is this an unexpected lunch? Well, I hadn't even planned on participating in the Hobbit blog hop since Beanstalk hasn't read the book yet, then I thought, why not just make it with a movie theme? So what movie food could I put in a lunch... popcorn & raisinets! Then I remembered the movie night cupcake picks a friend gave me... and it all just came together :)
In Beanstalk's Laptop Lunches bento box he has ● a Hobbit door peanut butter pocket sandwich with a raisinet doorknob ● grapes in a Giant Spider cup ● raisinets in a little mushroom cup (Hobbits love mushrooms) ● white cheddar popcorn ● & the One Ring in an apple with wavy peel River Anduin.
Sadly, the Hobbit Hop is broken, so clicking on the Hobbit Hole won't take you anywhere. But I like the graphic so I'll leave it here :)
Some stuff I used in this lunch:
I love how you pulled it together with the picks! <3

ReplyDeleteI am glad you unexpectedly joined the hop. This is a cute lunch with lots of elements from the movie cleverly worked in.
ReplyDeleteI really like that you went with the movie theme. Great job making the unexpected lunch!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! The movie themed lunch is perfect. I love the door.
ReplyDeleteLove all the little details in your theme! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd the One Ring! If he saw the other movies, he should catch that reference... I think they may have mentioned it once or twice...
ReplyDeleteAnd the giant spider... He might think it was Shelob though.
Looks great! I love how you made the river on the apple.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely put up together. I love the movie theme, the use of picks, and the One Ring by the River of Anduin. Love your carving skills ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your blogs. Thank you for sharing your ideas to us mommies. One quick question which am sure a lot of people have asked you already, what do you use to prevent your cut apples from browning?
ReplyDelete- Ellen D.
Thanks Ellen!
DeleteI guest blogged about this very topic over at the Easylunchboxes blog - check out my post there: 6 Ways To Stop Fruit From Browning
Usually I use Fruit Fresh - I was out today and used lemon juice. My boy ate it all so it must have worked, he's picky and will leave it of it doesn't look appealing :)
Awesome, awesome lunch! LOVE the movie theme!
ReplyDeleteYay movie night! Love the lunch, C! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing my movies at home so this bento is the perfect idea for movie nights IMO!! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those picks!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late to the party and have only watched the movie not long ago - love all the references!
