Madagascar 3 is in theatres today! My sproutlets are so excited!
I made them penguin peanut butter sandwiches & Afro Circus oatmeal muffins. Bella had carrots with a giraffe pick & tomatoes with a lion & polka dot picks with hers. Beanstalk had raisins with his (not shown).
This lunch will make more sense if you have seen the Madagascar 3 trailer :) So in case you haven't, or even if you have, and because it's funny... here is the Madagascar 3 Afro Circus Remix:

Field Trip Lunch!
Pickle was supposed to have a field trip yesterday, and needed a disposable lunch. That didn't mean it had to be boring though! I decorated a strawberry basket with Madagascar character cut-outs and lined it with a red & white striped popcorn bag :)
Inside I packed apple Buddy Fruits, an apple juice box, polka dot penguin peanut butter sandwiches, & an Afro Circus muffin. I also added a yogurt tube, but after I took the photo below. He also got a little box of circus animal crackers for snack time.
Yep, rain. And the field trip was a hike in the woods. Sadly, it was canceled at the last minute, which made me extra glad I had made his lunch so fun, I hoped it might help cheer him up. He was soooo disappointed he didn't even want to go to school. The lunch helped - I told him he had to go if he wanted his sack lunch, because we don't eat sack lunches at home! It worked :)
I adore you. Beyond all comprehension. And, of course, any post that has my favorite MC in it is especially awesome ;)
ReplyDeleteHe so needs an MC Clap Yo Handz t-shirt!
DeleteOh yes!!! I would wait for his birthday but that's soooooooooo far away! Maybe I'll just wait until the next paycheck. I gave him the name, I get to give him the shirt :)
DeleteI'll need a shirt size ....
DeleteLOL, 1 size bigger than the Iron Man t-shirt :) Wait, did you open the package yet?
DeleteI did!!! Johnny saw it and screamed loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear "I LOVE IRON MAN!!!!!" :)
DeleteI hadn't realized this was Afro Circus Move It. I didn't think that song could get any better, but its amazeballs, and so is your lunch!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) That is the best clip isn't it?
DeleteI love this beyond words. Amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! And thanks for pinning it!

ReplyDeleteIncredible, as usual! Great job, Cristi! We're going to have to make those muffins. :)
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. I love everything about this post!!
ReplyDeleteAnother brilliant lunch!
ReplyDeleteLove this so much! Can I ask what cereal you used to top the muffins? xx
ReplyDeleteIt is Malt-O-Meal Fruity Dyno Bites, very similar to Post Fruity Pebbles but they come in a bag rather than box and cost less :)
DeleteBrilliant thanks! I am in the UK so will have to try and hunt something similar down. Keep up the good work! xx
DeleteUsing a strawberry box lined with paper is really clever! I hope I'll remember or have one on hand next time I have a long train trip.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! I just got this cutter this week. My penguins will never look as cute as these. I just saw the movie. Love that song.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is so amazingly fun! I would love to get some muffins (and a lunch) like this...now I need to make some "circus afro" popcorn! ^^
ReplyDeleteAh ha ha ha!!! You made my day with this post! My kids and I LOVE the circus afro song and can't stop singing it... what better way to celebrate it than with your adorable circus afro muffins? I will be buying fruity pebbles to make these muffins right away! :)
