Pickle "helped" make his lunch - meaning he got out the bread, peanut butter, yogurt, & cheese, then asked me to make him lunch :) Then he asked if it could be a surprise... so I added some grapes! He doesn't normally eat any fruit in it's original form (for those who aren't in the know, he has autism and sensory issues) but every now and then when he's in a good mood and we're in a comfortable environment, he will try something new, so, why not? Worst case scenario, I've wasted 3 grapes and endured a temper tantrum :)
Pickle's EasyLunchbox is packed with UFO peanut butter sandwiches made using cookie cutters & a candy eye, mozzarella string cheese cut into chunks with an alien cupcake pick stuck in one, 3 green grapes, & yogurt topped with yellow sugar stardust & some fruit leather stars & UFO.
Pickle did not eat the grapes. But he did tolerate them being there, and still ate the cheese that was touching them, so if you know anything about kids with food issues, you'll agree with me - that's a good thing!
Some stuff I used to make this lunch:
So so cute!!
ReplyDeleteAnd why didn't I know about UFO day?! Shocking!
So cute! Love the yogurt, and yay for accomplishments!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I think the yellow stardust really makes the yogurt pop and look spacey!
ReplyDeleteOut of this world! :)
